The comprehensive dental services we provide will give you complete coverage for everything affecting the teeth, gums, and jaw. Your dental health is important to us, and we strive to give you the best care to cover all of your dental needs. We will help you achieve or maintain the smile you deserve!
Your Frisco and Prosper dentist, Dr. Walkington, believes that the most important part of comprehensive dentistry is prevention because it minimizes the chance of original problems recurring. Quality preventive care can also save you a great deal of time and money on future dental work!
Routine Dental Cleanings & Individual Exams
Having your teeth professionally cleaned on a regular basis will keep your teeth and gums looking, feeling, and functioning at their best. We’ll make sure the plaque and tartar is completely removed, and even polish to give them a dazzling look. We’ll also floss them to make sure your gums are in good condition.
After your cleaning, Dr. Walkington will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums. In addition to a visual assessment, he will check your current restorations, examine any X-rays that were taken, and screen for early signs of gum disease and oral cancer.
We understand that going to the dentist can be stressful, so we’ve designed our Frisco and Prosper dental offices to make your visits as comfortable as they are effective. If it’s been a while since your last cleaning, call us today to schedule an appointment! We’ll take great care of you.
Dental Sealants & Fluoride Treatments
Dental sealants will cover the chewing surfaces of the molars where we chew food the most, making them more vulnerable to food particles getting stuck and causing cavities. The sealant will keep the protect the surface and keep them healthy for many years.
Children and adults alike can benefit from fluoride exposure. The safe and easy way to ensure that your teeth are getting enough fluoride is to use fluoride toothpaste, which is available in a variety of types and flavors. We also provide a more concentrated in-office fluoride rinse after each professional cleaning to really fight off decay.
Restorative Dentistry
Many of the things we take for granted with our natural teeth, from smiling with confidence to eating the foods we love, can become easier again with restorative dentistry. Dr. Walkington offers a variety of restorative dental treatments that can give your smile a second chance.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
The days of having shiny silver in your mouth after a filling are gone. At your Frisco and Prosper dentist offices, we place composite, or tooth-colored, fillings for a more natural look. We are able to bond composite fillings directly to the tooth, meaning there is much less drilling and more of your healthy tooth structure remains.
Crowns
Porcelain crowns provide much more to your oral health than the appearance of your smile, they can restore weakened and cracked teeth and give much needed protection. If your tooth is broken, misshapen, or severely decayed, crowns are a great solution for giving your teeth a permanent and beautiful smile. Crowns can restore your teeth by itself or a part of dental implants or even partial dentures. They are extremely strong and if taken care of properly will last for years to come. In fact, if Dr. Walkington places a crown before your tooth fractures or becomes infected, it could save you from needing more invasive restorative dentistry treatments like an extraction or a root canal.
In our Frisco and Prosper, TX dental offices, we offer CEREC® one-day crowns. With CEREC, Dr. Walkington is able to design, mill, and place your restoration in just a single visit.

Much like crowns and fillings, restorative inlays and onlays can have a dramatic effect on your smile. After the inlays and onlays are created in a lab, they are sent to our office where Dr. Walkington bonds, shapes, and polishes your new restoration for the perfect fit.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a comfortable and permanent solution to replace a missing tooth by attaching to a crown on either side of the gap. A bridge will keep your surrounding teeth from shifting out of place so you will avoid more expensive treatments in the future. They are completely natural looking and will compliment your smile!
Comfortable, Easy, & Affordable Dentures
Dentures in general have been improved and updated to give patients a more comfortable and natural look for their smile. The dentures we provide at Wildflower Dental & Orthodontics will not only give you your smile back, they also provide much needed function for eating and speaking.
If you are missing teeth, your cheeks will start to sag and droop down, causing you to look older than you are. Dentures will stop that from happening and give your face a full and healthy esthetic. It’s easy to take advantage of things like teeth when you have them, but when they are gone you realize just how much they affect your daily life. Luckily, dentures are a long lasting and natural looking solution for your smile, for years and years to come!
Start-to-Finish Dental Implants
Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)
At Wildflower Dental & Orthodontics, we try to retain your natural teeth whenever possible because nothing is better than the real thing! With root canal therapy, we can save infected teeth by removing the infected area, fill it back in, and top it off with a filling. A tooth repaired by a root canal can last a lifetime.
Root canal therapy sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. You can rest easy knowing that we do everything possible to make your treatment as painless and comfortable as we can. You will be able to retain your natural teeth and your smile will look as good as ever!
We look forward to meeting you!

Wisdom Teeth Removal
By the time our wisdom teeth start to grow in there is usually not enough room in the mouth to accommodate them. The result is often impacted wisdom teeth in the gums, wisdom teeth that erupt sideways, or teeth that only partially come in. Most of the time they cause more damage than good, so most dentists recommend having them removed before they cause problems.

Gum Contouring
If you have a gummy smile caused by gums that are too low on your teeth, we can help you get the smile you deserve. Dr. Walkington will discuss your smile goals with you, mark off where your gums will sit after the surgery, and walk you through the entire process. A local anesthetic is applied to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Periodontal (Gum) Care
According to the American Academy of Periodontology and the Centers for Disease Control, nearly half of American adults suffer from gum disease. If your gums feel tender, look red and swollen, or bleed every time you floss, you could be at risk. Untreated gum disease has been linked to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes, so it’s important to keep up with your biannual dental checkups and cleanings.
Gum disease used to require surgery more often than not. While surgery is sometimes still the best option, Dr. Walkington can treat many cases with less invasive techniques such as local antibiotics, deep cleanings, and medicated rinses.
Diagnosis of Gum Disease
The sooner we can spot periodontal disease, the better. The condition starts off as gingivitis and can progress to the more serious periodontitis if it’s left untreated. Signs of gum disease include tender, red, swollen, bleeding, or receding gums; loose teeth; or even something as benign as bad breath.
Scaling & Root Planing (Deep Cleanings)
At Wildflower Dental, our goal is to remove the harmful plaque and tartar build-ups from your teeth and smooth out the surfaces of your roots. Doing this prevents bacteria from getting in underneath the gum line and can prevent gingivitis from progressing into something more serious.
Arestin® Local Antibiotics Treatment
If Dr. Walkington finds that you are at risk of developing gum disease, he can provide you with Arestin®, an antibiotic powder that helps stop infection where it starts. Dr. Walkington will apply the Arestin to the perio-pocket, the area between your teeth and gums, and the antibiotic will effectively clean up the infection. Once the infection has been removed, routine cleanings will keep your gums and teeth healthy for a long time.
Long-Term Maintenance Plans
If you’re concerned about maintaining the health of your gums, our friendly Wildflower team is here to help. We will develop a long-term maintenance plan to ensure that your mouth stays healthy and provides you with a lifetime of beautiful smiles.
Periodontal Surgery
While we always try the least invasive option first, some cases of gum disease are severe enough to warrant periodontal surgery. If you require surgery, we’ll numb the area first using local anesthesia, and then clean and restore the infected areas.
We look forward to meeting you!
